WeShare is not designed to become a financially successful company in the traditional sense — it is structured to become a financially successful, community-owned cooperative. Our model centers on shared ownership, transparent reinvestment, and the idea that energy is a public good. Revenue and value generated through our programs are redirected into strengthening local resilience, infrastructure, and empowerment — not private profit.
One of our most ambitious long-term strategies is the development of a Virtual Power Plant (VPP) — a network of connected solar and battery systems across the island that can operate in coordination, balancing supply and demand, and increasing the reliability and flexibility of our local energy supply. This means more control, more security, and more benefit for our community, not shareholders.
