Purpose
This framework outlines how WE Share knowledge, language, and systems can be shared, protected, and attributed. It is a community-led commitment to responsible use, open collaboration, and values-based replication. This is not a legal document, but a shared understanding of how to uphold the integrity of WE Share’s work.
-
Core Principles
Open sharing with community respect
Protection from misrepresentation or misuse
Clear attribution to origin
Transparency over control
WE Share encourages adaptation and use by others, provided it supports community outcomes, aligns with shared values, and acknowledges the initiative’s roots.
-
What Is and Isn’t Protected
WE Share does not currently hold copyrights or trademarks.
All materials are shared in a spirit of trust and transparency.
Contributors are asked to respect the integrity of WE Share language, models, and governance ideas.
If protections become appropriate in future (e.g. for misrepresentation or external co-option), options may be explored with community input.
-
Responsible Use of the WE Share Blueprint
The WE Share Blueprint is a living guide for how communities can organise around shared energy, governance, and values. It contains insights, templates, and tools to support others.
We ask that those using or adapting the Blueprint:
Acknowledge Waiheke Island as the source origin
Use the materials in non-commercial, community-serving contexts
Retain attribution wherever substantial reuse occurs
Avoid reframing the content in ways that conflict with WE Share’s intent
You don’t need permission — just respect and clarity.
-
Staying Aligned and Evolving Together
As WE Share grows, this framework may evolve. If concerns arise over misuse or misalignment, they can be raised with the community for open discussion.
Anyone engaging with WE Share content is invited to:
Let others know how you’re using it
Share improvements or lessons back to the community
Stay in touch and be part of evolving the work
This framework is held lightly, with care — not as control, but as invitation and trust.
This draft is open to community feedback and may evolve as WE Share grows.
