PURPOSE

Community Hosts and Event Organizers are key to building momentum and trust at the local level. They coordinate gatherings, facilitate kōrero, and help share the WE Share kaupapa in ways that are accessible and energizing.

This role is perfect for people who love connecting others, enjoy hosting, or want to be part of shaping a cooperative energy future.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Host or co-host informal meetups, events, or info nights in your home, workplace, marae, or community venue

Welcome newcomers and help orient them to WE Share’s purpose and pathways

Coordinate with WE Share facilitators or project leads to align event content

Share official WE Share materials (e.g., slides, brochures, forms) at events

Listen for community feedback and bring insights back to the team

TIME & FLEXIBILITY

Events can be as small as a backyard cuppa or as formal as a hall presentation

Hosts decide how often and when they’d like to offer events

Most hosts contribute 2–4 hours per month, with support

SUPPORT PROVIDED

Access to event format structure support

Orientation call with a WE Share facilitator

Optional co-hosting with a facilitator if requested

Signal support groups and event planning checklists

IDEAL ATTRIBUTES

Friendly, inclusive, and confident speaking with others

Comfortable answering basic questions (with support)

Values-aligned and passionate about the kaupapa

No need for technical expertise — just a willingness to connect
