PURPOSE

Induction Facilitators are the friendly bridge between interest and participation. They help new contributors, partners, or supporters understand what WE Share is, how it works, and how they can engage in a way that aligns with our values and kaupapa.

This role is crucial to ensure that first impressions are welcoming, empowering, and clear — particularly as WE Share scales.

As WE Share is currently in a pilot phase, Induction Facilitators play a key role in setting realistic expectations, clarifying evolving structures, and guiding participants through a living, learning environment.  RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Welcome and guide new contributors through the onboarding process
  • Provide orientation materials or walkthroughs based on interest areas (e.g. governance, local projects, solar roles)
  • Answer basic questions or triage newcomers to appropriate roles or facilitators
  • Direct new contributors — especially those entering technical or specialized roles — to the appropriate WE Share contact or facilitator, and provide relevant guides if available
  • Identify and flag recurring onboarding gaps or confusion
  • Maintain induction pathways in collaboration with the Communications and Values Steward teams
  • Help develop and refine “Welcome Packs” or similar entry-level resources
  • Collect feedback from new participants about their onboarding experience and recommend improvements to the Governance and Communications teams
  • Where values alignment is unclear or issues arise, escalate to a Values Steward for support

  • Understands WE Share’s structure and guiding documents (or willing to learn)
  • Comfortable with basic digital tools and coordination systems
  • Good judgment in matching people to the right roles or opportunities

STRUCTURE & SUPPORT

  • Works alongside Community Hosts, Values Stewards, and Comms Facilitators
  • Receives training and resources (e.g. digital induction guides, FAQs, escalation pathways)
  • Participates in feedback loops to improve clarity and accessibility of onboarding
  • Encouraged to log induction touchpoints to help track engagement growth
  • Orients participants to core WE Share documents such as the Charter, Living Governance Framework, and Values Language Guide
